Andra Day and Andi Matichak
Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day is an American R&B/Soul musician and singer. She has won the Grammy Award, Children's and Family Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award are just a few of her many awards she's been awarded. The singer was also considered for nominations to an Academy Award. Andra day is an incredibly gifted and skilled artist. It's not like she's a throwback R&B specialist, however her background in gospel jazz as well as the blues is apparent and translates into contemporary music. Her debut single Cheers to Fall (2015) has topped the hiphop/R&B charts. Her contributions towards Marshall (2017) brought her an award including a Grammy Award as well as an Academy Award. Amen (2018) Make Your Troubles (2020), and her Golden Globe-winning performance in Billie Holiday, in The United States against Billie Holiday(2021) are continuing to create anticipation for Day's second full album. Andra is born Cassandra Monique Batie on Edmonds Washington. After growing up living in San Diego and surrounding areas her first performance was in church and enrolled to the School of Creative and Performing Arts. Growing up, Day listened to contemporary R&B music and then pop. But her soul was always drawn to classical soul and jazz singers. Kai Millard Morris was able to see a live performance that Day delivered and later returned to the studio with Day's tracks her. Motown legend Adrian Gurvitz connected Day and the veteran music businessman. Day's YouTube fan base grew rapidly after she teamed up along with Gurvitz, Jeffrey Evans and Buskin. The trio eventually signed a major label deal in partnership with Warner Bros. It was quickly taken up by DJs and they began playing it on the radio. She then was signed to Warner Bros. Records. Adrian Gurvitz recorded her debut album, Cheers to celebrate the fall. It featured the track Rise Up which became an anthem for social justice movements across the globe. Day received two Grammy nominations for the categories in the category of Best R&B Album for her album. The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a concept-album on the famous jazz musician's life was released in 2019. The United States against Billie Holiday was released in 2021. It was the same year in which she was also featured as Holiday. Andi Mattichak, a native of the United States is an American actor. She appeared first in TV shows such as Orange Is the New Black or Blue Bloods prior to her debut in the horror films Halloween and sequels. Andi Mattichak was born on May 3, 1994 in Framingham Massachusetts.
